Project 1: VR Counselor Participant Engagement Practices

This project strengthens VR counselor engagement skills through practical training and leadership development. We will pilot a Statewide VR Leadership Academy to build counselor leaders and create a model other states can replicate.

Activities:

  • Skill modules on Pre-ETS, Benefits Counseling, Financial Planning, Advocacy, & STEM careers

Project 2: Career Assessment & Emerging Trends

This project strengthens VR counselors' ability to conduct high-quality career assessments aligned with todays and emerging labor market trends. Through national collaboration and data-driven tools, we will build sustainable resources that improve assessment practices nationwide.

Project 3: Preparing VR Participants for STEM Careers Through AI Innovation

This project expands access to high-quality STEM careers for individuals with disabilities by equipping VR counselors with AI-driven tools, social communication support, and targeted STEM career resources.

Activities:

  • AI-supported social communication training (Noora platform) integrated into VR practice
  • STEM Career Preparation Bootcamp and Quick-Start Guide
  • Expansion of structured models such as TECH-Prep
  • Practical tools for STEM exploration, credentialing, and employer engagement
  • Development of VocRehabAI, an AI-powered chatbot providing real-time decision support for STEM career planning and accommodations

Project 4: Dual Customer Employer Engagement & Service Delivery

This project strengthens VR's ability to serve both job seekers and employers by providing practical tools, AI-informed training, and strategies to build strong, lasting employer partnerships.
