Project 2: Career Assessment Addressing Emerging Career & Employment Trends

This project aims to enhance the skills of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) counselors in conducting high-quality career assessments that align with current and emerging labor market conditions. It will establish a national Community of Practice (CoP) and develop resources that respond to evolving labor market demands. A national needs assessment will identify gaps in existing assessment methods and guide the creation of targeted materials, including Fast Facts publications, online modules, and evidence-based video content. Additionally, the project will build sustainable infrastructure through a peer-to-peer professional forum and an AI-supported labor-market information database.

Activites

  • Community of Practice: Our Community of Practice connects VR professionals to share ideas, solve problems together, and improve the efficiency and quality of services.
  • Conduct a National Needs Assessment: A needs assessment will identify gaps in existing assessment methods and guide the creation of targeted materials, including Fast Facts publications, online modules, and evidence-based video content.
  • Build a Peer-to-Peer Professional Forum: Resources for VRCs to evaluate and improve their engagement techniques, as well as improve service delivery and participant engagement.
  • Develop an AI-Supported Database: We will build an AI-supported labor-market information database.
